Environmental Tectonics Corporation is a growing, dynamic US Manufacturer located just outside of Philadelphia, PA. We are an ASME Code-compliant manufacturer specializing in sterilization chambers, pressure vessels and pressure vessels for human occupancy as well as military training equipment. We are seeking an experienced Lead Welder to support our manufacturing operations and help maintain our commitment to quality, safety and craftsmanship.
The Lead Welder will be responsible for leading welding and fabrication activities while actively participating in the production process. This role requires a hands-on leader who can work independently, mentor team members, and consistently produce high-quality work in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform GMAW (MIG), FCAW (Flux-Cored) and GTAW (TIG) welding on carbon steel and stainless steel components.
- Complete fabrication tasks including fitting, grinding, cutting, welding and finishing.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Lead and support a team of welders while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Make sound decisions with minimal supervision and ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Perform complete fit-up and fabrication of welded assemblies.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes and other material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Assist in training and mentoring less experienced team members.
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards and applicable ASME code requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years’ of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience with GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing practices, metal fabrication, grinding, cutting and finishing techniques.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively leading others.
- Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and similar material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
