Summary:
Applies basic electrical engineering principles to design, fabricate, modify, enhance and evaluate moderately complex electrical and electro-mechanical systems for new and existing products within budget and time constraints under general direction from a lead engineer. The responder will be joining our electrical engineering team developing complete sterilizer control systems including panel assemblies and wiring diagrams and schematics. They will be involved in the design and development of stand alone, distributed I/O, SCADA, and network based control systems for integration with a variety of sterilization, and other pressure vessel equipment.
Essential duties, responsibilities and specific outputs include the following:
Create and design panel assembly drawings with full wiring diagrams and control system schematics using AutoCAD.
Assist in identifying problems with existing designs and recommend, implement and document approved changes.
Coordinate efforts with the mechanical design team.
Provide technical support for electrical technicians and assemblers.
Verify the operation of sterilizer control systems upon completion.
Assist test engineers in the component and bench testing.
Tools and Equipment Used:
CAD software (Autodesk Product Design Suite), measuring devices,
engineering lab equipment, and typical engineering office resources.
Primary Internal Interfaces:
Frequent contact with the lead engineer, project management, and employees on the shop floor and in the office area.
General Job Requirements:
Intermediate level computer skills (word processing, database, spreadsheets)
Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical experience a must
Good oral and written communication skills
Self motivated with ability to handle assignments with minimal guidance
Knowledge of PLC control systems and control panel design will be helpful
Working Knowledge of electrical codes (i.e. NEC, NFPA, UL508A) is desired
