Custom Equipment Manufacturer seeking System-Level Test Technician for Dayton, Ohio

 

Candidates should have experience working with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, control systems (including including; digital & analog circuits, PC and PLC control systems) and troubleshooting experience.

 

Summary of Job:

Candidate should be able to work with minimal supervision to perform a variety of operational tests on the developmental equipment. Candidate should have the capability to troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical and control system issues and maintain records of the results. Candidate should have basic computer skills and be familiar with basic computer software (including MS office). Candidate should be able to read and understand blueprints, schematics and technical documents. The senior test technician will report testing status to the system engineer on a weekly basis.

 

Primary Duties include:

Equipment start-up including I/O checkout.

Perform various mechanical and electrical tasks using a variety of electrical, mechanical hand tools, measure diagnostic tools, and testing equipment.

Troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, piping and control issues including PLC, motion control, and I/O subsystems using PC based software.

Maintain complex mechanical and electrical sub-systems and assemblies.

Keep records of the troubleshooting, testing, preventive and corrective actions performed.

Provide status and other reports as required.

Interface with Engineering on issues relating to bill of materials, drawings, schematics, software, and control system issues.

 

Min. Qualifications Required:

  • Associates degree in electronics or equivalent industrial or engineering field.

  • 3+ years of experience working as a test technician.

  • Solid electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability.

  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and blueprints.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced team environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, balancing workload and priorities and insure timely completion of tasks.

  • Candidate should have good interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment.

  • Must have solid verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be willing and able to work overtime.

  • Capable of lifting 40 lbs

Skills and/or Training Desired:

  • Experience writing or debugging PLC ladder logic.

  • Experience with refrigeration systems.

Candidate must be US citizen or an otherwise lawful US resident
